Are You a Lurker or a Learner?
A little over 1% of LinkedIn users publish content on a weekly basis. 25% of Twitter users create 92% of the tweets. While there isn’t a lot of data for how many users create content for some of the other social media sites out there, it isn’t a stretch to imagine that the percentage of people creating content is actually fairly small in relation to the total number of users.
Additionally, there isn’t any information about the percentage of people who comment on social media, but a study completed by The University of Texas at Austin found that 24.6% of people read comments on news articles, but do not post any. The study included comments on social media or news websites.

I have heard a lot of people, especially in the marketing world, say these people are lurking. But when I think of a lurker, I think of someone super shady and creepy.
