While I never worked for a delivery app in NYC, I have scraped by on Uber, Lyft, DoorDash, and Rev, among others, I have seen this firsthand. I’ve also worked for apps that are better like TaskRabbit, although every platform has its faults. If you’re just trying to make a little extra on the side, these apps can be awesome and the problems described in this article aren’t as blatant. But when you depend on them for your income, this article barely scratches at the surface of the problems.
